The Islamist movement Hamas called Thursday a new Palestinian uprising after US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
“You can not face the US Zionist policy more than launching a new intifada,” Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said in a speech delivered from the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, affirmed that the president of the USA “entered forever in the history” of Jerusalem. “Trump entered forever in the history of our capital, his name will appear proudly next to other names in the glorious history of our city,” he said at an event organized by the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
